It was a great evening at the Towner Art Gallery Private View in Eastbourne, I felt very pleased to be part of the East Sussex Open Exhibition and thought the show looked pretty good.

I am gradually working my way through my next embroidery, it is the biggest one I have made so far and probably the last one in this format. New ideas and thoughts push their way to the front of my mind while I work

I enjoy the process and repetition, the image is slowly emerging and I have no guarantee that it will work, I just have to have faith. The stitches change direction and I think that it is this combined with the metallic quality of the thread, that helps it reflect the light, giving it a shiny appearance and changing the tones from dark to light.
So far I have used almost 400 metres of thread, I think I will have to use another 300 metres, maybe more.
