I am now one month into my MA and I am making lots of new work which is quite different to what I do at Draw. I have to present this new work to my fellow students and tutors in the form of a show during December so I shall wait until then before posting any information on this new body of work.
I am still at Draw and I have found a renewed fascination with blind contour drawing. This involves drawing without looking at the paper, not even a glance.

I like the strange qualities where things are not quite where they are supposed to be. The process is freeing, you can let your pencil wander around without worrying where it is going but still follow the contours of the figure. I feel the drawings are more true, you actually draw what you see instead of creating an illusion of what you see.
I still get the watercolours out occasionally:

And I have completed a new embroidery and made a start on another, using some blind drawings I made previously

The unfinished one of the head is on vintage fabric and it is the back bits of the sewing, it looks more interesting than the front.
Lastly, a couple of monoprints from a session I ran today at Draw. These were mostly drawn without looking at the paper, but allowing myself just to glance once or twice. If I look at my drawing whilst I am drawing, it usually spoils the effect but if I don’t interfere with it too much, it can work out ok:
