Life Drawing in abstraction

I attended a life class on Sunday that encouraged everyone to embrace their mistakes and question what makes a good drawing. This is often on my mind, many of my favourite drawings by other artists are ones that are misshapen, distorted and crooked. These distortions are often harder to produce than you think, it goes against your instinct to purposely draw things out of place, to exaggerate and distort the features. It takes courage and a leap of faith to get it wrong so that it will hopefully look right.

 

          

 

These were my favourite drawings from the session, it has given me the inspiration to push my boundaries and get out of my comfort zone, no matter what the outcome.
